Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden

In a garden green and wide,
Adam walked with God beside.
Birds would sing and rivers run.
God had made them all, every one!

Then came Eve, his lifelong friend,
God’s good gift from start to end.
“Eat the fruit from every tree.
But that one is not for thee.”

Then a serpent slithered near,
Whispering words Eve chose to hear.
Adam and Eve ate the fruit God said to leave,
And soon they felt the shame and grief.

But God said, “Serpent, you will fall.
One day good will conquer all.
From the woman’s seed will be
One who sets My people free.”
